Fall 2025 Auditions will be held in the weeks following the start of the semester. In addition to our auditions, we also hold a pre-audition NSO workshop.

  • When and where are auditions?

  • Typically within the first week of September, more info TBD!

  • What is the audition process?

    • There will be two dates for open auditions, of which you only have to come to one. After both open auditions are completed, some dancers will be selected to return for a second round. Please fill out the form above to receive updates about our Fall 2025 auditions!

  • What do your auditions consist of?

    • Both our open and callback auditions begin with basic warm-ups and stretching, followed by a demonstration of the audition choreography. For the remainder of the time, the dancers learn the combination and perform in small groups at the end of the session. In our open auditions, we typically teach a hip-hop combination. In our callback auditions, we teach Asian traditional or fusion choreography, which includes open-hand styles and/or props.

  • What do you look for in dancers?

    • In addition to good dance technique and musicality, we also note prospective dancers' work ethic and attitudes throughout our auditions. Show us your passion for dance and have fun with the choreography! Don't be afraid to ask questions and talk with our current members!

  • What if I don't have previous dance experience?

    • Don't let lack of dance experience discourage you from auditioning. There’s a wide range of experience levels among our members; some have been dancing since they were young, while others have come in with little to no experience. What's more important than experience is the potential to grow as a dancer.

  • I’m not sure if I want to audition and commit to a dance group. Can I still attend?

    • Yes! Feel free to treat the open audition as a workshop. Come to meet new people and learn some fun choreography.

  • I plan to audition for another group in addition to Pan-Asian, but the audition times overlap. What should I do?

    • We offer two open auditions, please attend the time that best accommodates your schedule. If neither of these time slots fit into your schedule, please contact us for information regarding make-up auditions.

  • What should I wear to your auditions?

    • Please wear comfortable clothes and sneakers or dance shoes that you can move easily in.
